In a recent review of hospitals, Magruder Hospital stood again at the top for patients satisfied with their hospital care. Magruder ranks 30th in a report released by Becker's Hospital Review titled, "The Top 58 Hospitals Patients Rated 9 or 10 in HCAHPS." This report placed Magruder 30th in the country and among the highest-ranked, acute-care hospitals in Ohio.

Magruder Hospital's President & CEO, Todd Almendinger, announced that Nick Marsico, RPh, Director of Magruder's Pharmacy and Administrative Director, has been promoted to Vice President of Ancillary Services .

Magruder Hospital’s Laboratory Department was awarded re-accreditation by the Commission on Laboratory Accreditation of the College of American Pathologists (CAP), based on results of a recent on-site inspection. Lawrence Fanelly, DO, Medical Director of Magruder’s Laboratory, was advised of this national recognition and congratulated for the “excellence of services being provided.” Magruder’s Laboratory is one of more than 7,000 CAP-accredited laboratories nationwide.

The Magruder Hospital Auxiliary’s 59th Annual Charity Ball will take patrons to a time of knights, kings, queens and fair maidens. On Saturday, February 23rd, the Catawba Island Club will be transformed into "A Medieval Knight."

The appointment occurred following the recent resignation of Michael E. Long as President & CEO of the hospital.

At the Harvest Festival this year in downtown Port Clinton, Magruder Hospital employees hosted a pancake breakfast and are donating all of the funds they raised toward the hospital's oncology renovation.

Linda Oman, CPHRM, has recently been hired as the new Director of Performance Improvement/Risk Management at Magruder Hospital.

Magruder Hospital recently promoted Ann Keegan, RN, BSN, CIC to be the Director of the Medical Surgical Department and Intensive Coronary Care Unit. Prior to her new position, she was the hospital's Coordinator of Infection Control overseeing all of the prevention initiatives throughout the organization.
