Magruder Hospital Reaches Fundraising Goal for Oncology EMR Upgrade

Magruder Hospital and the Magruder Hospital Foundation are thrilled to announce that they have successfully reached their fundraising goal of $300,000 for the Oncology Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Upgrade Project. This achievement marks a significant milestone in the hospital’s ongoing commitment to providing the highest quality cancer care to patients in the communities we serve.

The funds raised will go directly toward upgrading the hospital’s EMR system for oncology services, allowing for improved care coordination, better treatment tracking, and enhanced communication between providers. With this upgrade, Magruder Hospital will be better equipped to deliver personalized, efficient, and timely care to those battling cancer.

“We are deeply grateful to our community for their overwhelming support and generosity throughout this campaign,” said Kim Schreiner, Vice Present of Nursing/Chief Nursing Officer at Magruder Hospital.  “Reaching this $300,000 goal is a testament to the compassion and dedication of our community members, donors, local businesses, and staff. Together, we are making a real difference in the lives of our patients, and we cannot thank everyone enough for their involvement.”

Our patient spokesperson Gail agrees, “I just want to say thank you to everyone who pitched in for the cancer EMR upgrade. It might not sound exciting to everyone, but it makes a big difference for people like me getting treated here. Knowing our local hospital has better tools now—it honestly means a lot. You all are part of this fight with us, and I’m really grateful.”

The successful completion of the fundraising effort reflects the collective strength of our communities, which came together to support a cause that touches so many lives. Donations were received from individuals, families, businesses, and organizations, all of whom shared the hospital’s vision of providing cutting-edge technology to enhance patient care.

“We believe that our patients deserve the best, and this EMR upgrade will help us to continue providing exceptional, compassionate care while improving the overall patient experience,” said Laura Muller, MSN, RN, AGNP-C, OCN, CPUI, Director of Oncology Services at Magruder Hospital.  “This technology will streamline workflows, reduce errors, and ultimately allow our doctors and nurses to focus more on what matters most—our patients.”

Magruder Hospital extends its deepest thanks to all who contributed, attended fundraising events, and supported this vital project. The hospital looks forward to the completion of the EMR upgrade and the positive impact it will have on cancer treatment and patient outcomes for years to come.
