blue-tent-safety-eventOn Wednesday, October 15th from 12 noon to 2pm, Magruder Hospital is hosting a Blue Tent Safety Event, which is open to the community.  This event is part of a partnership between Magruder Hospital, the Hospital Council of Northwest Ohio and a number of local safety agencies like the EMA, American Red Cross, the Ability Center, United Way, Davis Besse and the Ottawa County Health Department.

Flu Shots and Blood Pressure Checks Available!

At the Blue Tent Safety Event a Portable Medical Facility will be set up to host community awareness information and health screenings. In one area of the tent there will be flu vaccines and free blood pressure checks.  There will also be an area where the agencies listed above will provide information on emergency preparedness for individuals and families.

Come learn about what kinds of plans and safety measures to take if you have pets; learn about the safety notification apps available through the Red Cross; see how the general public can help in the event of a disaster – and much more.  The last part of the tent will be set up as a portable hospital so community members and healthcare/safety employees can get an idea of how it would look and work in the event of a disaster.

This event will take place in the parking lot behind Magruder Hospital. Anyone wishing to attend should come through the north/ER hospital drive and drive straight back to the new medical office building parking lot to park.
